Oskar Siebert makes a film about organ- donation

Regensburg. The Regensburg filmmaker Oskar Siebert cannot complain about his success. With about 150 – mostly without financial support- film prizes from all over the world, his short films were honored at different film festivals. Now, the amateur filmer has new popular trophies to put into the cabinet: At the same time he got two Crystal Globes for “The Prague Romance” at the Canadian International Annual Film Festival in Toronto, one of the most important festivals in the non-professional field.

         A great honor for the 62 year old filmer and his daughter Daniela, with who he has made most of his projects under the label “videoAktiv Regensburg”. The next videos has the in Berlin born filmer to do on his own. His daughter studies in Bamberg since this semester. Per e-mail and telephone both keep in touch daily to talk about the next steps for “The Heart”.

      The sricpt, for the demanding and emotional film to the topic of organ- donation, is finished since a long time. Now the finance has to be secured for the round 6000 Euro expensive video. Siebert hopes for sponsors. At the moment the places for the scenary are going to be selected, where the eight-man production team and director and cameraman Oskar Siebert and the probably twenty actors will put the drama in scene.

       The conflict in the twenty minute video is tragic and grip: A pregnant young woman needs a new heart. Her mother sees the progressive decay of her daughter and the hopelessness to get a donor heart right at time. To help her daughter, she acts in despair.

        But more will not be betrayed. The cast of the main actress is not finshed yet. Local theater professionals  and acting- students will not be missed. The dreamcast for the mother has Siebert in his mind: He would like to win Adele Neuhauser for this role.
